A Floral Note

High Ridge Meadows Farm, East Randolph, Vermont

So call me crazy, but I plan on adding flowers to our farm product offerings this year. This certainly requires a leap of faith and some real flora fortitude. I mean, this is my plan, but you never know what Mother Nature will do. I am thinking edibles, fragrant blooms and pretty herbs to intermingle. Just fresh off the farm, cut flowers for informal tablescapes, adding some culinary flavor,or just because…

I have cosmos, sunflowers, celosia, zinnias, dahlias, nasturtium, yarrow, and of course,  lavender growing in the cutting garden. I already missed the lilacs and peonies. No time to put together bouquets and so pretty I didn’t want to cut too many ( just for me😊).

Right now I continue to keep ahead of the weeds. Hopefully, the blooms will coincide with the slower pace of summer and there will be colorful bunches available at the barn soon!
